What Is The Difference Between a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) of a PMSM Fan and an Ordinary Motor?

With the rapid development of modern science and technology, PMSM with its own advantages quickly occupy the market and completely surpass the ordinary motor, so what are the characteristics of PMSM and the difference between the ordinary motor? Compared with the traditional electricity field motor , the PMSM of the PMSM Fan, especially the rare earth PMSM, has the advantages of simple structure, reliable operation, small volume, light weight, small loss, high efficiency, flexible shape and size of the motor, etc. Therefore, it is widely used in aerospace, national defense, industrial and agricultural production and daily life.

1. High power density. It mainly refers to the PMSM with small volume, large power generation or output power. This is because the excitation field of the PMSM is provided by the permanent magnet, and the rotor does not need the excitation current, which improves the efficiency of the motor. Compared with the traditional motor, any speed point can save electric energy, especially when the speed is low.

2. Starting torque. The PMSM ceiling fan adopts asynchronous starting mode, but the PMSM works normally. Therefore, when designing the PMSM, the rotor winding can fully meet the requirements of high starting torque, for example, from 1.8 times to 2.5 times, or even higher.

3. Light weight and small volume. The PMSM of the PMSM Fan uses the permanent magnet material with high performance to supply the magnetic field, so that the air-gap field of the PMSM is greatly enhanced compared with the induction motor, and the volume and weight of the PMSM are greatly reduced compared with the induction motor.

4. The failure rate of the PMSM is low and it is widely used. Due to the use of high-performance rare earth permanent magnet materials to provide magnetic field, the failure rate is lower, and the use is more common.
